The new AxCMS.net 9.0 License Model

by dan 11. September 2009 13:41

Today I had a little discussion with Alexander Körner from Axinom regarding their new Licence Request Form:

Have you seen the textbox labeled "Domains"? This textbox IS mandatory from now on. That means: If you order a license for a certain domain, this license will also only work on this certain domain!

If you leave the domain textbox empty than Axinom will serve a localhost license that only works for local installations.

If you host different sites under one installation (company.com / company.org / company.info) only the "main" host has to be named while requesting license (whatever that means... I will give it a try).

Would like to hear about your oppinions and experiences...

Regards
Dan

There is one important option exists in web.config files - LiveSystemHostName. It's parameter begins with http:// and should match with the hostname defined in your license that has the same key tag - LiveSystemHostName.

So if the host name in license file is like http://company.com then you should have the same value in your web.config files and neither http://www.company.com or any other one. That host name is meant as main

Another additional aliases, like www.company.com and other ones for multisite supporting could be added as host headers under IIS Web Site
